Blissfully Unaware

  • The Centre for Contemplation and Wellbeing 717 New North Road Auckland, Auckland, 1022 New Zealand (map)

It is incumbent upon each of us to do something to diminish the power of our lack of awareness, our lack of insight and our lack of attentiveness.  To do this we practice #mindfulness. Without mindfulness, it is difficult to overcome the mind’s propensity for chaos.

Although mindfulness is the first step, we also need to remember that the practice of mindfulness exists in order to support our efforts to create the right mental conditions for positive thoughts, emotions and positive feelings to arise.

Even when we talk about fixation it also has a component of being mindful. Whatever engages your mind or whatever your mind is absorbed in or occupied with is mindfulness.

The outline of the course is to question unexamined assumptions that we may have about:
- What exactly mindfulness is & how it works
- Working with and understanding how emotions arise
- Working with the Mind and Body
- Radically reforming our perception
