The Psychology Behind Awareness

Meditation should not be used simply to calm the mind - to simply enter into a state of deep relaxation - because calmness without insight, is not very useful.

It is like taking time out, relaxing and then falling back into what we call the 'samsaric frey’. So nothing really changes - we just repeat the same old thing over and over and never learn anything new.

When we arise from meditation we still yell, we are still obnoxious, fragile and overwhelmed, we still lose our temper, feel guilty, then we feel sorry for ourselves and get even more angry, then we shout some more.

The Insight to Well-being Initiative in conjunction with the Nyima Tashi Centre for Contemplation & Wellbeing are offering this one day Introduction to the hindrances and challenges of Meditation.

Please register for this course by emailing us at insight.to.wellbeing.initiative@gmail.com

Cost $20 (can be paid in advance or on the day)
